Physiotherapy can help you to manage a wide range of conditions and injuries, including musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and post-operative rehabilitation.
Physiotherapists can treat a wide range of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries, neurological conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain.
The number of physiotherapy sessions you will need will depend on the severity of your condition or injury, as well as your individual treatment goals.
During your first physiotherapy session, your physiotherapist will perform a thorough assessment to evaluate your condition or injury. They will then develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals. They will also inform you on how many sessions they think you will need throughout your treatment journey. Your treatment plan will include manual therapy, exercise, and education.
You may need to see a physiotherapist if you are experiencing pain or difficulty moving, have had a recent injury or surgery, or have a chronic condition that affects your physical function.
Yes, physiotherapy can be an effective treatment for sports injuries. Physiotherapists can help to manage pain, reduce inflammation, improve range of motion, and promote healing. They develop an individualised treatment plan for the particular sport you wish to return to.
You should wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and easily. It is also a good idea to wear clothing that allows your physiotherapist to access the affected area.
Physiotherapy helps arthritis sufferers by increasing the amount of activity that they can do, whilst also decreasing their pain. Physiotherapy is not covered by Medicare unless the patient has a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan (Medicare EPC Plan). If you have a Medicare EPC Plan, then you will be eligible to put this towards the Physiotherapy consultation fee, this will subsidise at least 65% of your consultation cost.
The reason we cannot entirely bulk bill Medicare EPC Plans is because in order to sustainably offer this service, we would need to cut our consultation time in half. We as a team decided that this was not in line with our value of “We Listen” and “We Avoid Quick Fixes” because it would negatively affect the service we deliver to our patients; and therefore concluded that we would not bulk bill this appointment type.
Physiotherapy can be highly beneficial for seniors, helping them to maintain their mobility, strength, and independence. Physiotherapy can also reduce the risk of falls, improve balance and coordination, and manage age-related conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis.
The length of time it takes to recover from a musculoskeletal injury with physiotherapy can vary depending on the severity of the injury, the patient’s overall health, and other factors. In general, patients can expect to see improvement within a few weeks to several months.
Yes, physiotherapy can be highly effective in treating balance and coordination problems. Physiotherapists can develop personalised treatment plans that include exercises to improve balance, coordination, and proprioception.
Your physiotherapist will provide you with a home exercise program that is tailored to your specific needs and goals. These exercises may include stretching, strengthening, and balance exercises.
